RESOLUTION NO. R--83--42?9/
A RESOLUTION REPEALING CITY OF TAMARAC RESOLUTION
NO. R-83-266 AND ENCOURAGING THE BOARD OF BROWARD
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO CHANGE THE LAND USE
DESIGNATIONS FOR PROPOSED AMENDMENTS #3-AC-83 and
#4-AC-83 FROM COMMUNITY FACILITY TO OFFICE PARK
DESIGNATIONS ON THE UNINCORPORATED LAND USE PLAN,
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac has been pursuing well planned
community growth since the adoption of its first land use plan in 1972;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. R-83-266 wherein
the City of Tamarac encouraged the Board of Broward County Commissioners
to deny Amendments #3-AC-83 and #4-AC-83 due to an overabundance of
existing and planned industrial area in Broward County and more
particularly surrounding the existing residential communities located
in Tamarac, Oakland Park, and unincorporated Broward County; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac Planning Commission has conducted an
analytical study of industrial land in Broward County and has determined
that the parcels would be more appropriately developed for
corporate office purposes.
SECTION 1: That the proposed industrial amendments to Broward
County's Unincorporated Land Use Plan reflect poor planning and will
reduce the quality of life of the existing adult residential communities
surrounding the parcels.
SECTION 2: That Resolution No. R-83-266 encouraging the Board of
Broward County Commissioners to deny the proposed land use amendments from
Community Facility to Industrial designations is hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: That the Board of Broward County Commissioners approve,
in lieu of the proposed changes to Industrial Land Use designations,
amendments to its Land Use Plan changing #3-AC-83 and 4-AC-83 from
Community Facility to Office Park designations.
SECTION 4: That the City Clerk is authorized and directed to transmit
a copy of this Resolution to the County Administrator, Board of County
Commissioners, Director of Planning Department and Administrator of the
Planning Council and the applicant.

SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective upon
adoption.
