CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. -b�3
A RESOLUTION APPROVING OF THE CONCEPT OF CITY
OPERATED AMBULANCE SERVICE; AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO FINALIZE
THE PLANS AND PRESENT THEM FOR COUNCIL APPROVAL;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City has investigated the feasibility of operating
its own ambulance service for emergency transportation in the City of
TOna_rac; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is in favor of pursuing such a program;
and
WHEREAS, various steps must be taken to bring this service to
fruition;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City Council endorses the concept of a City
operated ambulance service for emergency transportation and intends to
implement such a service.
SECTION 2: That the proper City Officials are authorized to take
appropriate action (negotiate contracts, apply for grants, file necessary
applications, acquire quotations and any other steps needed) to formalize
a City operated ambulance service and to report back to City Council for
final approval and implementation.
SECTION 3: That the City Council intends for the City to continue
to use Broward County Emergency Medical Services in coordination with the
City operated service.

SECTION 4: This Resolution shall became effective in7nediately
