CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. -- J-3 aZ��
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE OUTRAGE OF CITY
COUNCIL CONCERNING THE DESTRUCTION OF FLIGHT
007 OF KOREAN AIRLINES ON SEPTFMBER 1, 1983;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida, is
outraged and saddened by the Russian atrocity of the shooting down on
September 1, 1983 of civilian airliner Flight 007 owned by Korean Airlines;

WHEREAS, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic has established a
new low for total disregard of life and human rights; and
WHEREAS, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic has compounded their
offense by denying the truth to the free world and hiding the truth from its
own people.
NOW, SORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA.
SECTION l: That the City Council adopts this Resolution as evidence
of its strong feelings of this dark spot in history.
SECTION 2: That the City Council urges the residents of Tamarac to
boycott Soviet products in memory of those untimely deaths on September 1, 1983.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
its adoption.
