R-8 3 •- 2 0 8 Temp. # 2823 Rev. 7/27/83 A RESOLUTION OF NECESSITY PURSUANT TO SECTION 9-12 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC DECLARING THE NEED IUR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A LOCAL IMPROVEMENT: WRE SPECIFICALLY, THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN 8 INCH WATER LINE FROM THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE LANDS OWNED BY SOUTHGATE GARDENS, INC., IN AN EASTERLY DIRECTION ALONG SOUTHGATE BOULEVARD TO THE SOUTH - 'WEST CORNER OF NORTHWEST 71ST AVENUE AND SETTING THE PUBLIC HEARINGS PROVIDED FOR BY THE CITY CODE AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, upon the recommendation of the City Engineering Department, deems it a necessity to the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Tamarac to provide an 8 inch water line from the Northwest corner of the lands owned by Southgate Gardens, Inc., in an easterly direction along Southgate Boulevard to the Southwest corner of Northwest 71st Avenue, and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined it to be an appropriate project for the use of Sections 9-11, 9-12 of the Tamarac City Code for levying and collection of special assessments for the construction of the aforementioned improvements, and WHEREAS, the construction of the improvements will benefit the abutting property owners and will require the notification of said property owners pursuant to Section 9-12 and will require that a Public Hearing be held. NOW, ARE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY [Saw II.,m)al 7:�g SECTION 1: NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING. You are hereby notified that there will be a Public Hearing before the City Council on the 14th day of September, 1983 at 8:00 p.m. o'clock. SECTION 2: GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE IMPROVEMENTS TO BE CONSTRUCTED. Pursuant to the procedures set forth in Section 9--12 of the City r r Temp. # 2823 1 2 3 4 1 I 9 10 22 22 23 16 �7 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 32 33 34 'Ar, 36 Code, the general description of the improvements to be constructed for the area beginning at the Northwest corner of the lands owned by Southgate Gardens, Inc., in an Easterly direction along Southgate Boulevard to the Southwest corner of Northwest 71st Avenue are as follows: An 8 inch ductile iron water line and fire hydrants fronting the above -described property, including, but not limited to, administrative and engineering design fees and all other fees required by Code. SECTION 3:' GENERAL CTIRACTER OF THE CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS. The general character of the construction materials to be used are as follows: 8 inch ductile iron pipe, fittings, and appurtances including but not limited to fire hydrants, valves and thrust blocks. SECTION 4: ESTIMATED COST'OF IMPROVEMENT'S. The estimated cost of improvements of the proposed improvements are as follows: The estimated cost of improvements is approximately $75,000.00. SECTION 5:' METHOD FOR ASSESS=. The special assessment upon the property owners benefited by this public improvement should be levied in a manner which is based upon a direct correlation between the number of dwelling units served and the total cost of the improvements. SECTION 6: This Resolution shall became effective upon adoption.
