A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE CONTINUED EFFORTS OF THE
UNITED STATES TO SEEK THE RETURN OF MILITARY PERSONNEL
MISSING IN ACTION IN SOUTHEAST ASIA; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, it has been almost.a decade since the war's end and there are still
American soldiers that are missing in action in Vietnam, Laos and other countries
bordering Vietnam; and
WHEREAS, these American soldiers dedicated themselves to defending and
maintaining the strength of our nation; and
WHEREAS, it is paramount to the soul of our society and to the hopes of the
families of these men that we continue to search for MIA's until every last
American soldier has been accounted for.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Tamarac urges the President
of the United States, the Senate, and the [louse of Representatives to immediately
undertake an investigation that will lead to the return of the MIA's.
SECTION 2: That the City Council further urges all citizens of Broward
County to encourage their local, state and national representative to do likewise.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
