RESOLUTION NO. -93- 4 0
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SL7gT E VIENT OF THE ROAD
AND BRIDGE TAX LAW SUIT; PROVIDING FOR THE CITY
TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE CITY OF CORAL SPRINGS FOR
A SHARE OF THE COSTS AND ATTORNEYS' FEES EX
pENDED BY THE PLAINTIFFS IN THE LAW SUIT; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council had previously authorized the City of
Tamarac to join the City of Coral Springs and other Cities in Broward County
as Plaintiffs in a law suit against Broward County in a dispute over the Road
and Bridge Tax; and
TES, the City of Tamarac has paid the sum of $654.00 to the City
of Coral. Springs as a portion of its share of the cost of litigation; and
WHEREAS, a settlement offer has been negotiated between the
attorneys for the parties of the law suit and said offer has been conveyed to
the City Council:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the terms of the proposed settlement of the Case of
the City of Coral Springs, The City of Tamarac, et al - vs. - Broward County,
83-19933 CA, in which the City of Tamarac would receive $50,301.08 as its
proportionate share of the $1.728 million settlement to be paid by Broward
County is hereby approved.
SECTION 2: That Attorney Paul McDonough and any appropriate
officials of the City of Tamarac are authorized and directed to execute the
necessary pleadings and documents to effectuate this settlement.
SECTION 3: That the City agrees to pay an additional $1,522.01 to
the City of Coral Springs as its proportionate contribution towards the
Plaintiffs'costs of litigation.

SECTION 4: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon
adoption.
