A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING A REQUEST OF HOSPITAL CORPORATION OF
AMERICA FOR ADDITIONAL BEDS AT UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY HOSPITAL
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Hospital Corporation of America has filed with the
appropriate state agencies a request to add beds at University Community
Hospital, and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac has been advised that University Community
Hospital is currently turning away twelve to fifteen people per day in need of
hospital care due to insufficient bed space, and
WHEREAS, this is a clear cut example of a situation that is detrimental
to the health, safety and welfare not only of the citizens of Tamarac, but of
the citizens of other jurisdictions in need of help, and
WHEREAS, hearings are scheduled at Tamarac City Hall on March 30 and31,
1982 to discuss and to have public input on the application.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing recitations are determined to be true and
correct.
SECTION 2: The City of Tamarac wholeheartedly endorses and supports
the application of Hospital Corporation of America for additional bed space at
University Community Hospital located in Tamarac, Florida.

SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
