CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-82-315
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE CITY OF TAMARAC'S
CONCERN AND COMMITMENT TO ASSIST ANY AND ALL
NON -GOVERNMENTAL ENTITIES WITH THE COMMERCIAL
REVITALIZATION OF BUSINESSES ON STATE ROAD 7
(441) WITHIN THE CITY OF TAMARAC; PROCLAMIJVG
"441" AS "GATEWAY TO THE NEW WEST"; AND PRO-
VIDING AN EFFECTIVE -DATE.
WHEREAS, State Road 7 (441) within the City of Tamarac is a
vital, commercially zoned area that serves the City of Tamarac and
adjacent communities; and -
WHEREAS, State Road 7 (441) serves as a major north/south
roadway artery for the City of Tamarac and adjacent communities; and
WHEREAS, State Road 7 (441) within the City of Tamarac is
uniquely situated in the center of Broward County with easy access
to the Turnpike and I-95; and
WHEREAS, the governing body of the City of Tamarac has in
the past expressed concern with regards to this commercial area; re-
cognizing that commercial revitalization of this area will be benefi-
cial to the citizens of the City of Tamarac and residents of nearby
communities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac now wishes to formally recog-
nize the need for commercial revitalization of this area and to
further formally commit itself towards progressive programs geared
towards commercial revitalization of businesses along State Road 7
(441); and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac further wishes to assist any
and all non -governmental entities that wish to work with the City
toward the commercial revitalization of the State Road 7 (441) area.
NOW, THEREFORE,'BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City of Tamarac herein formally recog-
nizes the need to work towards the commercial revitalization of
State Road 7 (441) within the City of Tamarac.

SECTION 2: That the City of Tamarac herein formally commits
itself to assist any and all non -governmental entities that wish to
work with the City toward the commercial revitalization of the State
Road 7 (441) area.
SECTION 3: That the City of Tamarac hereby recognizes and
endorses the efforts of the Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Chamber of
Commerce, West Division, and proclaims "441" "The Gateway to the New
West".
SECTION 4: That the City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit
copies of this resolution to the Broward County Board of Commissioners
and to all municipalities contiguous to or adjacent to State Road 7
(441) .
SECTION 5: That the City of Tamarac encourages the County and
Cities contiguous to State Road 7 (441) formally adopt the afore-
mentioned resolution.
SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately
upon adoption.
