HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity of Tamarac Resolution R-82-1571 2 3 4 8 9 20 31 32 33 24 1�. 20 i 21' 22 23 24 23 26 27 28 29 9 321 331 34 33 36 Introduced b / Y Temp. #2312 Rev. 6/9/82 CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA RESOLUTION NO.,P Z2-/,57 A RESOLUTION OBJECTING TO THE SPECIAL EXCEPTION REQUESTED OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAUDERHILL IN PROPOSED LAUDERHILL RESOLUTIONS 82-68 and 82-69 FOR THE USE OF A PARTICULAR PARCEL OF PROPERTY AT N.W. 64TH AVENUE AND COMMERCIAL BOULEVARD FOR OPERATING A GAS STATION AND/OR A CONVENIENCE STORE. WHEREAS, National Convenience Stores, Inc. has made a request of the City of Lauderhill for Special Exception to the applicable zoning ordinances for the construction and operation of a gas station and/or a convenience store at the corner of N.W. 64th Avenue and Commercial Boulevard in the City of Lauderhill, Florida; and WHEREAS, that site is adjacent to the municipal boundary of the City of Tamarac, Florida; and WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac has an inherent interest in the development of such property adjacent to its boundary; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac believes that the development requested would not be in the best interest of the residential areas in the City of Tamarac which are in the immediate vicinity of the requested development. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Tamarac is opposed to the Special Exception requested in Lauderhill Resolution No. 82-68 seeking the use of a particular parcel of land located at N.W. 64th Avenue and Commercial Boulevard for the operation of a gas station. SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Tamarac is opposed to the Special Exception requested in Lauderhill Resolution No. 82-69 seeking the use of a particular parcel of land located at N.W. 64th Avenue and Commercial Boulevard for the operation of a convenience store. 1 2 3 4 I 3Z 3.3 14 15 7 20 21 22 23 i 24 i :25 36 271 26 29 34 35 36 SECTION 3: That the City Council of the City of Tamarac is of the opinion that the proposed uses would not be in the best interest of the nearby residential community in the City of Tamarac or to the nearby residential community in the City of Lauderhill. SECTION 4: That the City Council of the City of Tamarac, by this Resolution, objects to the action requested in Lauderhill Resolution Nos. 82- 68 and 82-69 and urges that this objection be considered at the Public Hearing presently scheduled for June 14, 1982 before the City Council of the City of Lauderhill and that said proposed Resolution Nos. 82-68 and 82-69 be denied. SECTION 5: As evidence of its strong commitment and concern, the City Council of the City of Tamarac passes this Resolution and directs the Tamarac City Clerk to mail a copy of this Resolution to the Mayor and each member of the City Council of the City of Lauderhill.
