CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-81-47
A RESOLUTION RECOM ENDING AUTO INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS
TO BE CHANGED T4 ONCE EVERY TWO YEARS AND ELIMINATING
THE REQUIREMQVT THAT NEW CARS BE INSPECTED
WIUREAS, the requirement for automobile inspections places an
onerous burden upon automobile owners due to tremendous lines at inspection
stations, and
WHEREAS, annual inspections are of questionable value, and
WHEREAS, currently there is a loss of time - up to two hours -
per inspection, and
WHEREAS, there is a waste of gasoline in starting and running
engines periodically to move the lines during that time frame, and
WHEREAS, requiring new vehicles to be inspected is totally
illogical.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The City of Tamarac endorses the modification of
existing regulations to provide that automobiles need to inspected only once
every two years and to eliminate inspection requirements entirely for new cars.
SECTION 2: A copy of this Resolution shall be furnished to
each member of the Broward County Legislative Delegation.
SECTION 3: Copies of this Resolution shall be furnished to
the Broward County League of Cities.
SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective upon
adoption.
