4 AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC
AUTHORIZING THE COUNCIL TO PERMIT REPAIRS TO
5 CERTAIN CITY EQUIPMENT; DEFINING.THE EMERGENCY;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, certain City equipment, in particular, a backhoe,
is in need of serious and costly repairs; and
9 WHEREAS, this repair is a sole source item; and
10 WHEREAS, certain vital public improvement projects require
11 immediate attention, some of which relate to protective services that
12 would be required in preparation for and clean-up following a hurri-
13 cane; and
14 WHEREAS, time is of the essence on these vital projects, and
35 we are in the midst of the hurricane season, the need to have this
16 equipment ready and in working order is vital to the health, safety
and welfare of the public, this purchase is viewed as an emergency.

! NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
19 TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
20 SECTION 1: That the City Council wishes to have this
21 backhoe repaired on an emergency basis in order to guard the health,
22 safety and welfare of .the public.
23 SECTION 2: That Massey -Ferguson, Inc., is the only local
24 source that carries parts for this backhoe and, therefore, Massey-
25 Ferguson, Inc., is authorized to make the necessary and appropriate
26 repairs to said equipment.
27 PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this day of 1981.
