Gomez called the Meeting of the City Commission to order at 9:39 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2019 in Conference Room 105, City Hall, 7525 NW 88th Avenue, Tamarac, FL 33321. ROLL CALL: Mayor Michelle J. Gomez, Vice Mayor Debra Placko, Commissioner Marlon Bolton, Commissioner Mike Gelin and Commissioner Julie Fishman were in attendance. Also in attendance were Assistant City Attorney Brian Sherman, City Clerk Patricia Teufel Risk/Safety Manager Patty Tomaszewski, BSO Captain Neal Glassman. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Mayor Gomez led the Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Gomez turned the meeting over to Assistant City Attorney Sherman who said the Commission is here today under Section 281.011 for a Closed Door Session for the purpose of providing Active Threat Awareness Response training to the Commission, which is closed to the public because it pertains to the security of the building. Assistant City Attorney Sherman said because this is a Closed Door session you must refrain from taking any notes and anything that may be handed out must be handed back and nothing can leave this room. Assistant City Attorney Sherman said he would be happy to answer any questions. Mayor Gomez reiterated that anything that is said in this room remains in this room and cannot be discussed with anyone outside of this room. Mayor Gomez closed the Public Meeting at 9:42 a.m. and re-opened the meeting at 1:07 p.m. Assistant City Attorney Sherman announced that Captain Glassman and Commissioner Gelin had left the meeting earlier due to other commitments. Assistant City Attorney Sherman reminded everyone that the information discussed at this meeting must remain in this room.
