CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2019 ' I
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, NAMING THE
TAMARAC SPORTS COMPLEX BASEBALL
FACILITY AT 9901 NW 77 STREET IN TAMARAC,
THE "JOHN ENGWILLER BASEBALL COMPLEX";
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The City Commission has implemented a process to provide
for the naming of City Parks and Recreational Facilities; and
WHEREAS, The process provides criteria for name identification for
individual Parks and Recreational facilities owned by the City of Tamarac and
ensures control for the naming of the Parks and Recreation Facilities by the City
Commission through the recommendation of the City Manager, with input from the
Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and City Staff; and
WHEREAS, Facilities within parks, i.e. playgrounds, picnic shelters, etc. can
be named separately from the park they are in; and
WHEREAS, Qualifying names should provide some form of individual
identity related to one or more items on a list of qualifying criteria with one (1) being
a deceased individual who has provided an exceptional service in the interest of
the parks system or the City as a whole ; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation received a naming
recommendation and submitted it for review to the Parks and Recreation Advisory
Board for the Baseball Facility within the Tamarac Sports Complex; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board has reviewed and
approved the recommendation to name the Baseball Facility within the Tamarac
Sports Complex the "John Engwiller Baseball Complex"; and
WHEREAS, It is the recommendation of the Director of Parks and
Recreation, City Manager and the Public Services Director that the City
Commission approve the name as "John Engwiller Baseball Complex; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it
to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to
name the Baseball Facility within the Tamarac Sports Complex "John Engwiller
Baseball Complex"
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA THAT:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this
Resolution.
SECTION 2: That the Baseball Facility within the Tamarac Sports Complex
located at 9901 NW 77th Street, in Tamarac, is hereby named "John Engwiller
Baseball Complex"

SECTION 3: All Resolutions o parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or
invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions
or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.
