R-2019- / 9 2-- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AWARDING IFB NO. 19-33B TO PC SOLUTIONS & INTEGRATION, INC. FOR THE PURCHASE OF A PALO ALTO NEXT- GENERATION FIREWALL AND ENDPOINT THREAT PROTECTION HARDWARE/SOFTWARE, INCLUDING REFERENCED LICENSING, SUBSCRIPTIONS, INSTALLATION AND SUPPORT SERVICES IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $181,890.00; APPROVING THE ACQUISITION OF A PALO ALTO NEXT-GENERATION FIREWALL AND ENDPOINT THREAT PROTECTION HARDWARE/SOFTWARE, INCLUDING REFERENCED LICENSING, SUBSCRIPTIONS, INSTALLATION AND SUPPORT SERVICES FROM PC SOLUTIONS & INTEGRATION, INC.; AUTHORIZING AN EXPENDITURE FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $181,890.00; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, technology is one of the key components in the efficient delivery of City services, and the City's network and server infrastructure is critical to ensuring continued operations; and WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac believes the security and integrity of our systems and data is of the utmost importance, and as such, additional security measures are necessary including the installation of an internal network firewall and security-related software to protect critical network and server infrastructure; and Temp. Reso. 13346 December 11, 2019 Page 2 of 5 WHEREAS, the City published Invitation for Bid (IFB) 19-33B for the purchase of a Palo Alto next-generation firewall and endpoint threat protection hardware/software, including referenced licensing, subscriptions, installation and support services, in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications contained in IFB 19-33B, available on file in the Office of City Clerk; and WHEREAS, three (3) proposals were received with costs as indicated below: Vendor Total Cost PC Solutions & Integration, Inc. $181,890.00 Optiv Security Inc. $254,668.04 CenturyLink $293,018.94 ; and WHEREAS, the proposal from PC Solutions& Integration, Inc. was deemed as the least expensive proposal for the purchase of a Palo Alto next-generation firewall and endpoint threat protection hardware/software, including referenced licensing, subscriptions, installation and support services; and WHEREAS, funding is available in the Capital Maintenance Fund budget for said purposes; and WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Information Technology and the Purchasing and Contracts Manager that the City Commission of the City of Tamarac award IFB 19-33B to PC Solutions & Integration, Inc.; and Temp. Reso. 13346 December 11, 2019 Page 3 of 5 WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to award IFB 19-33B to PC Solutions & Integration, Inc., for the purchase of a Palo Alto next-generation firewall and endpoint threat protection hardware/software, including referenced licensing, subscriptions, installation and support services at a total contract cost of$181,890.00. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA THAT: SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption hereof. All exhibits attached hereto are incorporated herein and made a specific part hereof. SECTION 2: The City Commission hereby awards IFB No. 19-33B to PC Solutions & Integration, Inc., for the purchase of a Palo Alto next-generation firewall and endpoint threat protection hardware/software, including referenced licensing, subscriptions, installation and support services in the amount of $181,890.00; and authorizes the appropriate City Officials to execute a Purchase Order for the purchase of a Palo Alto next-generation firewall and endpoint threat protection hardware/software, including referenced licensing, subscriptions, installation and support services. Temp. Reso. 13346 December 11, 2019 Page 4 of 5 SECTION 3: Funding is available for the purchase of a Palo Alto next-generation firewall and endpoint threat protection hardware/software, including referenced licensing, subscriptions, installation and support services from the appropriate accounts for a total cost not to exceed $181,890.00. SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution. SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. Temp.
