R-2019- i 30 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AWARDING IFB NO. 19-32B TO VEYTEC, INC. FOR THE PURCHASE OF CISCO SYSTEMS NETWORK SWITCHES IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $213,282.66; APPROVING THE ACQUISITION OF CISCO SYSTEMS NETWORK SWITCHES FROM VEYTEC, INC; AUTHORIZING AN EXPENDITURE FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $213,282.66; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, technology is one of the key components in the efficient delivery of City services, and the City's network and telephone server infrastructure is critical to ensuring continued operations; and WHEREAS, the City's existing Cisco Systems network infrastructure that was purchased in 2005, are at the end of their lifecycle, and replacement is necessary to support continued operations and to alleviate issues related to increasing data/network traffic, use and capacity/performance requirements; and WHEREAS, the City published Invitation for Bid (IFB) 19-32B for Cisco Network Switch Replacements, to obtain quotes for Cisco Systems network switches, in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications contained in IFB 19-32B, available on file in the Office of City Clerk; and Temp. Reso. 13344 December 11, 2019 Page 2 of 4 WHEREAS, ten (10) proposals were received with costs as indicated below: Vendor Total Cost Veytec, Inc. $213,282.66 MTM Technologies, Inc. $215,402.00 AIP US, LLC $216,554.00 PC Solutions & Integration, Inc. $231,347.84 Mobile Network Supply $239,029.18 CLOUD11 LLC $243,021.27 Total Communications Inc. $261,038.67 Pro Network US, Inc.* Non-responsive Acordis International Corp* Non-responsive Loxia Technologies Inc.* Non-responsive ; and WHEREAS, the proposal from Veytec, Inc. was deemed as the least expensive and most responsive proposal for Cisco Systems network switches; and WHEREAS, funding is available in the Capital Maintenance Fund budget for said purposes; and WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Information Technology and the Purchasing and Contracts Manager that the City Commission of the City of Tamarac award IFB 19-32B to Veytec, Inc.; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to award IFB 19-32B to Veytec, Inc., for the purchase of Cisco Systems network switches at a total contract cost of$213,282.66. Reso. 13344 December 11, 2019 Page 3 of 4 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA THAT: SECTION 1: The foregoing 'WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption hereof. All exhibits attached hereto are incorporated herein and made a specific part hereof. SECTION 2: The City Commission hereby awards IFB No. 19-32B to Veytec, Inc., for the purchase of Cisco Systems network switches in the amount of $213,282.66; and authorizes the appropriate City Officials to execute a Purchase Order for the purchase of Cisco Systems network switches. SECTION 3: Funding is available for the purchase of Cisco Systems network switches from the appropriate accounts for a total cost not to exceed $213,282.66. SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
