CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2020- 37
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPROVING
AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY
OFFICIALS TO APPLY FOR AND RECEIVE
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR THE HURRICANE
IRMA REBUILD FLORIDA GRANT PROGRAMS;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The City of Tamarac has been and remains committed to
prudently managing public funds and seeking out alternative funding sources for
City projects and initiatives; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, the City's robust grant program secured a
variety of funding sources for many parks, infrastructure and other projects aimed
at improving city services, resident quality of life, safety, disaster preparedness,
mitigation and environmental protection, along with promoting economic
development; and
WHEREAS, The City is seeking to continue and enhance its efforts to seek
alternative funding sources to reduce the burden on the City taxpayers, while
ensuring that it continues to invest in critical disaster preparedness and mitigation
projects; and

WHEREAS, The Florida Department of Economic Opportunities made
several grant funding opportunities available via Rebuilt Florida Programs and the
City identified several critical projects that meet the grant program criteria; and
WHEREAS, the Assistant City Manager and the Interim Director of Financial
Services recommend approving the submittal of applications for the Hurricane Irma
Rebuild Florida Grant Programs with the Florida Department of Economic
Opportunity and authorizing the appropriate officials to execute and file such
applications, along with all the necessary documents; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, deems it to be in
the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to approve
the submittal of applications for the Hurricane Irma Rebuild Florida Grant Programs
with the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity and authorizing the
appropriate officials to execute and file such applications, along with all the
necessary documents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA THAT:

SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this
Resolution. All exhibits attached hereto are incorporated herein and made a
specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: The City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, hereby
approves the submittal of applications for the Hurricane Irma Rebuild Grant
Programs with the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.
SECTION 3: The City Commission hereby authorizes and directs the
appropriate City officials to execute and file said applications and the necessary
documents associated with them.
SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or
invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions
or applications of this Resolution.

SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption. M
