R-2020- O ' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING ONE MEMBER, HELENE HERMAN, TO THE PUBLIC ART COMMITTEE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on March 8, 2017, the City Commission approved Resolution R-2017-28 appointing Elliott Bastien to serve a term concurrent with the appointing Commissioner, or until such time other appointments are made, on the Public Art Committee ; and WHEREAS, Bastien resigned from his position as a member of the Public Art Committee March 3, 2020, prior to the expiration of his term and creating a vacancy ; and WHEREAS, In accordance with §2-58 of the City of Tamarac Code, the City Commission shall appoint a qualified individual to the respective position ; and WHEREAS, The City Commission of the City of Tamarac deems it to the be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint one (1) member to the Public Art Committee in accordance with §2-58 of the Tamarac Code ; and Temp. Reso. #TR13470 July 24, 2020 Page 2 of 3 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA THAT: SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. All exhibits attached hereto are incorporated herein and made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: That the following individual is hereby appointed to the Public Art Committee to serve a term to coincide with the nominating Commissioner or until such time as new appointments are made. SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution. SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption. Temp.
