CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2020- 101
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING
CHRISTINE CAJUSTE AS DIRECTOR OF
FINANCIAL SERVICES, EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 14,
2020 OR AT SUCH DATE AS IS MUTUALLY
AGREED UPON; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Charter, Section 5.04(a) provides that the City Manager
"shall appoint and supervise the heads of all departments and Assistant City Manager
...subject to the approval of the majority of the Commission..."; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Manager that Christine Cajuste
be appointed as Director of Financial Services, effective October 14, 2020 or at such
date as is mutually agreed upon; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be
in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to approve the
City Manager's appointment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this
Resolution. All exhibits attached hereto are incorporated herein and made a specific
part of this Resolution.

SECTION 2: That on recommendation of the City Manager, attached hereto as
Exhibit 1, Christine Cajuste is appointed as Director of Financial Services, effective
October 14, 2020 or at such date as is mutually agreed upon.
SECTION 3: That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: That if any clause, section, or other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or
invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or
applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.

Madam Mayor and Members of the Commission:
Pursuant to the City Charter, I recommend that Christine Cajuste be appointed to the position
of Director of Financial Services, effective October 14, 2020 or at such date as is mutually agreed
upon.
Ms. Cajuste has over seventeen years of municipal government experience, including nearly
thirteen years with the City of Tamarac serving in both technical and leadership roles as the City's
Controller and Assistant Director of Financial Services. In addition, Ms. Cajuste has been serving as
the Interim Director of Financial Services since March of this year. Before joining the City of Tamarac,
Ms. Cajuste was the Assistant Finance Director for Financial Reporting in the City of Opa-Locka,
Florida for five years. Prior to her career in municipal government in Florida, Ms. Cajuste served in
several senior auditor roles and was responsible for overseeing the audits of both governmental and
non-profit entities.
Ms. Cajuste has a master's degree in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University
and is a Certified Public Accountant.
I am very pleased to recommend Ms. Cajuste be appointed to the position of Director of
Financial Services. I fully anticipate that she will excel in her new role and will continue to be an asset
