RESOLUTION NO. R-2020- /0g
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA, TO APPROVE AND RE-ESTABLISH AS
STANDALONE THE SCHEDULE OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL
SERVICES TRANSPORT FEES FROM OTHER FEES
GENERATED BY TAMARAC FIRE DEPARTMENT; AUTHORIZING
THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE THE RE-
ESTABLISHMENT OF THE FEE SCHEDULE FOR EMERGENCY
SERVICES TRANSPORT FEES; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transport fees are
established by Resolution and the services provided include but are not limited to Basic
Life Support (BLS), Emergency Transport, Advanced Life Support (ALS) Emergency
Transport; and
WHEREAS, Tamarac Fire Department schedule of EMS Transport Fees were
established at a reasonable and competitive rate and have not changed nor increased
since 2008, and Resolution R-2008-92 was approved for EMS Transport Fees on June
25, 2008; and
WHEREAS, the EMS Transport Fees charged are not being adjusted at this time;
however, they are being delineated and separated from other service fees generated by
the Tamarac Fire Department for clarity and transparency purposes; and
WHEREAS, a comparison chart of Broward County Agencies' EMS Transport
Fee Schedule document is attached hereto as Exhibit A; and

WHEREAS, the Fire Chief recommends the Tamarac EMS Transport Fees be re-
established as standalone fees and separated from other fees generated by Tamarac
Fire Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this
Resolution. All Exhibits attached hereto are expressly incorporated herein and made a
part hereof.
SECTION 2: The City Commission hereby approves and re-establishes as
standalone the Schedule of EMS Transport Fees from other fees generated by the
Tamarac Fire Department and that the Fire Department EMS Transport Fees provided
in the City of Tamarac shall be as follows:
• Basic Life Support Emergency Transport $600.00
• Advanced Life Support Emergency Transport $650.00
• Advanced Life Support 2 Emergency Transport $700.00
• Mileage $10.00 per mile
• Non-Emergency Patient Assist $75.00
SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or
invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or
applications of this Resolution.

SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption. n
